Another one of my vintage-girly outfits, inspired by citrus colors. And I still haven’t gotten over peter pan collars and wearing socks with heels, as you can see. They’re still everywhere in Japanese magazines.

Yummy green apples/cherries on my skirt! I rarely have any green in my closet, but it’s a color that’s been growing on me for a while now.

I was sent this adorable satchel bag by Kim of Tonic! It’s a precious little thing that just screams “fresh” . Loving how it also has two compartments for my obsessive-compulsive bag-organizing tendencies.

Tricia Gosingtian

To complete that geek-chic vibe, I wore hipster glasses again. I know it’s silly and childish to wear glasses knowing that there’s absolutely nothing wrong with my vision, but sometimes I treat them as some sort of security blanket or a way to hide a makeup-less face. Although more than anything else, I believe that they’re cute accessories that just make some outfits look better or more complete. :)

The fabric of this maxi dress is just so soft and beautiful that it makes it so hard to resist feeling or touching it every so often. I rarely buy anything from Kamiseta but turns out they released some really awesome limited dresses last summer! I think I’ll try to get my hands on the butterfly version soon.

In love with the combination of brown, cream and pink nowadays because there’s something effortlessly sweet about it without having to explicitly wear skirts and heels that scream femininity.

Special thanks to Maria Allen Jewelry for this customized necklace! I just realized that it’s just fitting how the small letter t (for Tricia) here can also pass off as a cross.

In other news, Forever 21 Philippines is turning 1 this July and that’s the reason why I’m wearing mostly Forever 21 in this post.

image

After the phenomenal opening of its flagship store in SM Megamall in July of 2010, Forever 21 has become a style destination to the Metro’s fashion-forward shoppers. The recent opening of yet another store in SM Makati in Makati’s Central Business District established it as one of the most successful apparel lines in the country. As Forever 21 celebrates its first anniversary in Manila, the Metro’s stylish set can look forward to more shopping fun and great finds from July 1 to 9 in its SM Megamall and SM Makati stores.

image

The shopping frenzy begins on July 1 as Forever 21 Mastercard holders are entitled to an exclusive 10% discount on all items with a minimum purchase of P 5,000. Forever 21 Mastercard holders can also avail of an early pass at 9:00 AM on that day by simply presenting their card and a valid ID at the J. Vargas entrance at SM Megamall and the Forever 21 entrance facing the Intercontinental Hotel in SM Makati. All BDO credit card holders also get 5% rebate with a minimum purchase of P5,000 from July 1 to July 3.

F21 umbrellas will be given away from July 1-3. SM Advantage, SM Prestige, and BDO Rewards Card holders also have the chance to win cool cameras – there will be six winners of GE X-500 cameras and four winners of GE C1233 cameras! Every P5,000 minimum single receipt purchase entitles one to an Electronic Raffle coupon when they use their cards. Happy shopping!

Lime Crime

Tricia Gosingtian

Lime Crime is a NY/LA-based alternative fashion cosmetics line that specializes in high performance, bright cosmetics including eyeshadows, eye primers, and opaque lipsticks. Celebrities including Katy Perry, Taryn Manning, Jessie J, MIA, Kerli, and magazines such as Elle, Teen Vogue, Nylon, Marie Claire, Allure, etc. have all acknowledged the awesomeness that is Lime Crime. Erica R, who works for the brand’s publicity and social media, emailed me a few months ago telling me how they’re huge fans of my blog and how they want to send me their make-up. This was such a spaz-moment considering how I used to incessantly ogle at Doe Deere’s make-up tutorials for shoot inspirations back in high school. Thanks again for these wonderful gifts, Erica!

Marj would kill me for not choosing the crazier lipsticks, but I just had to give in to my pale lipstick obsession and get my hands on Cosmopop and Coquette. Cosmopop (first photo) is a pale orange that I absolutely love because it’s a fresh color that’s so hard to find in other make-up brands. Coquette (second photo) is a pale pink lipstick that I imagine would look perfect with heavy eye make-up. I also received Nymph, which is this adorable shimmery gold eyeshadow that works wonders as a brow bone and inner eye highlighter.

And how cute can the packaging get? Reminds me so much of my childhood and Lisa Frank!

It’s back to school for everyone in the country! Reading tweets and status messages on Facebook from my fellow Ateneans concerning their teachers, classmates and schedules made me miss college a bit, so here’s an outfit inspired by the colors of my university.

It’s a feature on online stores here in Manila, styled by the author herself. Haven’t collaborated with young designers for a while now so this was rather nostalgic. I used to shoot a lot of online store lookbooks and catalogs a long time ago (and until now I still support online stores in my outfit posts) so now whenever I see them getting featured like this, I become really happy for their success. I’ve seen some of your favorite online brands grow from the start. Such inspiring stories.

Review: Geo Bambi Sesame Gray + Geo Mimi Cafe Macchiato

image

Finally got my hands on two of Tsubasa Masuwaka’s designs - Bambi Sesame Gray and Chocolate. I’m saving the latter for the future since I have so many circle lenses opened at the moment! Apparently, these are the most popular designs in Japan right now, and you can see them all over Japanese magazines such as as Popteen and Popsister. These are 15mm, perfect for people who really want their eyes to look bigger. IMHO, Geo makes the best lenses and this pair isn’t an exception in terms of comfort and design. They take a bit of getting used to if you haven’t tried 15.00mm lenses yet, but after a while you won’t feel anything anymore because they’re so comfortable.

image

The yellowish ring inside gives a lot of depth to these lenses, since there are a lot duller designs out there that only make you look like you have dead fish eyes!

image

It’s super cute how Mimi Cafe lenses are named after coffee! The designs are most probably made to resemble how your coffee cup looks from above. These ones that I’m wearing are 15.00mm Macchiato ones with a cute swirly design. Here’s a better photo:

image

These would make great everyday lenses! You can wear them with or without make-up and they would never look off.

Thanks a lot to Cherry Pacheco for the wonderful make-up and to Japanese Candy for always sponsoring my lenses. You can check out their website for more details. If you missed some of my old reviews (here to provide good pictures, more than anything else), you can find them here.

Vintage inspiration. I almost never go out in jeans but these are just pure love - they are so flattering and I love the slightly hippie flare going on at the bottom. Got them for free when I was in New York and Tumblr had an event of sorts at Madewell (Broadway at Broome - I still remember!)

To complete the laid-back ensemble, I paired my jeans with a really nifty loose knit top with cool zippers on the side seams. It was sent to me straight from the US by Astars. Thanks a lot!

The Last Day of May

image

(Photos by Calel; make-up by Cindy Pineda-dela Cruz for Shu Uemura; Forever 21 racerback lace top and ring, From New York floral skirt, Topshop belt, from Singapore necklace, from Korea glasses, Debenhams bag, Aldo wedges) Hype this look on Lookbook here.

On the last day of May, I wore lace and florals. It’s going to be gloomy again soon because of the rainy season, so I might revert back to my black ensembles with cross necklaces and platform shoes.

image

Instantly fell in love with this skirt when I went inside some random store in Soho, way before my girly-vintage style came to be. The dark gray used to have a little blue in it, but for some reason it faded into a color which, fortunately, I ended up loving even more.

The bag is something I got at 50 off about 3 years ago. I always pair it with these particular wedges because they seem like a match made in heaven, with almost the same kind of brown with studs and all.

Cosmo Fun Fearless Female Awards 2011: Global Girl

Tricia Gosingtian Cosmopolitan Magazine Fun Fearless Female Global Girl

(Photo by Niko Villegas -but this is a crappy photo of a photo that I took of the giant poster that they sent me, hair and make-up by my favorite Cherry Pacheco Uy, styling by Alyanna Martinez who let me wear this amazing dress by Marianne Perez)

Cosmopolitan magazine held their second annual Fun Fearless Female Awards last May 5 and surprisingly I was given an award for being a “Global Girl”. They said this award is given to Filipino achievers abroad, which is immensely flattering, but I personally don’t think I’ve achieved that much yet! Thanks Cosmo!

Fellow awardees Anne Curtis, Venus Raj, Andi Manzano, and Frencheska Farr were among the Awards Night attendees, and I would’ve ogled at my girlcrushes all night if only I weren’t abroad.
