CMYK Color Block

(Pinkaholic pants, Monkee Business top, Comfit heels, 37LA book clutch) Hype this look on Lookbook here.
CMYK-inspired colors! I didn’t get cyan quite right, but I think I got everything else spot on. Color blocking is something I’ve never totally gotten a hang of, to be honest. If I do decide to combine so many colors in one outfit, something geeky like this usually happens.

I used to hear a lot of CMYK back in college, where we were always required to print out our graphic design homework for submission. I remember it being such a serious and tiring task for everyone - the colors would always turn out different if you used a different color model like RGB, and usually we had to shell out extra cash (from our measly allowance) to have it printed the second time around. Hopefully, we got the colors right this time!
Nowadays, I almost never get to practice my graphic design skills at all! I can’t remember doing something majorly design-related since I graduated two years ago, unlike most of my peers who pursued it as a legit profession. I don’t regret being an art student at all, though. My 4-year stay in Ateneo BFA Information Design always gives me warm and fuzzy feelings whenever I reminisce. The art classes were really helpful, despite them not being directly related to photography or whatever career that I have now, and the whole program just reinforced my highschool love for playing around with Photoshop and Illustrator.
Most importantly, I also found my best friends for life back there.

To complete the school nostalgia post (because classes are starting tomorrow for some schools and I feel old knowing that it’s been 2 years since I graduated from university), I had to throw in a book clutch that matches the yellow of my shoes and the black of my top. When literature meets fashion! I think the whole book clutch trend is genius. It taps into my inner geek so perfectly that I want book clutch versions of all my favorite books now!
