I change my nail polish faster than the weather!
So what’s the reason behind all these erratic nail color changes? One of my ultimate pet peeves is chipped nail polish, and I absolutely cannot stand looking at nail polish that have already chipped but strangely haven’t been completely removed by nail polish remover. Seriously, if I had all the time in the world, I’d bring nail polish remover with me everywhere and remove people’s chipped nail polish myself! Get it together, girls. It just looks… well, unkempt and unclassy. *cringe* If you can’t keep up with proper nail care, just opt for no polish at all. Personally, I *have to* remove my nail polish at the first sight of imperfection, especially if I had my nails done professionally and don’t have the color used in my own household. Talk about obsessive-compulsiveness! I admit I can get quite clumsy at times, so you can just imagine how fast my nail polish chips… but this is why I absolutely *love* gel polish once in a while. I’m still crossing my fingers for Japanese hard gels to be available here though. That would be such a dream. T_T
(b+ab x Angelababy top, b+ab x Hello Kitty iPhone case Forever 21 skirt and hat, SM Accessories bag, ring and earrings, Naughty Monkey heels) Hype this look on Lookbook here. Thanks to RG for taking my photos!
Pearls, not diamonds, are a girl’s best friend. My love affair with pearls goes a long way, for me to able to say this. As a kid, my mother would often mention that wearing pearls is the best way to make yourself look elegant without looking too overdone. Just look at Audrey Hepburn! She was able to pull off a super sophisticated look by just wearing pearl accessories with her little black dress.
I have pearl earrings in all shapes, styles and sizes, but I can’t seem to get enough of them, it seems. When I saw this b+ab x Angelababy top, I went on major delusional mode, and got it from the rack without even bothering to look at the price. It turned out reasonable (THANK GOD) when it was time for me to pay, making it probably my most favorite purchase from my recent Hong Kong trip.
Tiny pearls shaped to create this lovely pattern? SOLD. The fact that it’s also part of the Angelababy collection made it even more special. I can’t stress my love for her enough, but so can’t the rest of the world. I bought her Japanese magazine covers when she was doing a lot of modeling work in Japan, and even kept a copy of the b+ab FW12 catalog with her on the cover after buying this top. I follow her religiously online, and I am so happy that she’s been going places and making a name for herself outside Asia as well.
I sound like such a creeper, but I solemnly swear that the mere sight of her pretty face and perfect features make me so happy and inspired! Girlcrush alert. She seems like a sweetheart too. <3
Toughened up a little by wearing a hat and a black pleather skirt, but still kept it feminine by wearing…
…the most adorable polkadot heels, which I now aptly call my official New Year heels. I’m a month too early, but these will be perfect for that Chinese (and Filipino) tradition of wearing round shapes that we can associate with money and prosperity. The more round shapes, the better, so polkadots are the easily the best choice!
This iPhone case was part of b+ab’s old Hello Kitty collaboration, which I was still lucky to stumble upon last month in Hong Kong. It came in different colors, but this black and gray one looked like it was made just for me! It was the safest choice, and you know how I always wear the safest choices, which is also the reason why I have such a boring and predictable style, lol. Anyhow, it features the b+ab bunny mascot hiding behind the iconic Hello Kitty bows. Too adorable for words!
Thanks to Beauty & Butter for my nails! I must mention that they have an unlimited manicure promo happening right now. For only P499 you can get full month of hand pampering. You can get your nails prettified as often as you want within 30 days by simply presenting your Unli Mani Card at any Beauty & Butter branch. I go to the one in Megamall - maybe I’ll see you there soon? :)
Bag and ring from SM Accessories.
Stay tuned for my My Own Fashion Week post tomorrow! And advanced happy birthday to me in a few hours. I’ll be turning 17…
Title is from my cardigan’s carrot-like color. :D
While this looks like the new Love Bayo x Sylvia Park collection, it’s not. I just wish. </3 I was in the Love Bayo x SoFA Young Designer Competition, and I knew her collection would win as soon as her first design came out. I was an instant fan - one of her dresses reminded me so much of Alice in Wonderland, which was just absolutely perfect for the “Modern Fairytale” theme of the contest. I wasn’t surprised that she was the designer chosen to have her masterpieces sold in all of Bayo’s stores. There are Bayo stores in almost every mall, so her win was definitely a deal of epic proportions.
I haven’t had time to visit the nearest Bayo store to get my hands on any of her stuff yet, but based on the photos I’ve already seen online from the launch (which I wasn’t able to go to because I was in Indonesia)…
Just take all of my money. Just take all of it, okay? It’s all lovely, classic and dainty with my favorite lace and florals. Very Bayo-esque in every way possible. I’m so happy they gave a budding young designer an opportunity to showcase her work, because I’m all for fresh, underrated talent.
Anyhow, enough spazzing! Here’s my outfit today:
Vintage Casio watches are all the rage right now, and this small golden one would have to be my favorite. Reminds me a bit of C-3PO from Star Wars.
Don’t you just love my nails? Thanks to Beauty and Butter, I got this pale blue-violet shade with some shiny gem accents. Some of my nails are also only half-painted, something I’ve been seeing a lot on Japanese magazines.
My mom thinks they’re odd though, lol. I’ll just nod my head because she took my photos for today. XD
Not a skirt. Whoever invented skorts, I think, was a genius. The illusion of a skirt is there, but they are much more comfy to wear! This particular one also has pockets… which automatically makes everything more convenient.
Whoa, this necklace is huge. And wonderful in so many ways. Ever since I got it, I’ve been wearing it non-stop. It’s heavier than most, if not all my existing necklaces, but there’s something so elegant about it that it makes me want to buy some more exaggerated accessories. I’ve never had something like this before, and because of this particular statement necklace, I’m sure you guys will be seeing some more in the near future.
Hope you liked this outfit!
