Just G: Sweatshirt-Sleeved Denim Jacket

Posted on Wednesday, 25 June 2014

(Just G jacket, top and shorts, Esperanza heels, Michael Kors bag) Hype this look on Lookbook here.

Always gotta be prepared for a little chilly drizzle! It’s still generally too warm to wear knits and heavy fabric, so layering is key with this kind of transition weather we’ve been having lately. I’ve always been an ame-onna (雨女, or rain woman) though - I greatly increase the chances of rain when I go out, so I always never leave the house without some form of outerwear. I get cold easily!

Here I wore a jacket from Just G’s latest “Tribe Squad Remix” collection, and it’s an amazing cross between a sweatshirt and a denim jacket! What I like most about this particular one is that it doesn’t come with a hoodie, which is common among sweatshirt-sleeved jackets. I think it looks a little more dressy this way! Don’t you think so too?

I can’t wait to pair it with my cutesy skirts!

The much awaited Just G Warehouse Sale will be on June 27 - August 16, 2014 at Warehouse 23, Armal Compound 2, M. Eusebio Ave., San Miguel, Pasig City. Mondays to Saturdays, except Holidays and Sundays, 8:00am to 4:00pm. They’ll only accept cash, btw! Make sure you bring enough!

Have fun shopping!

Just G boutique stores can be found in SM Megamall, Market Market, Sta. Lucia, SM Southmall, Eastwood City, SM North Edsa, SM Manila and SM Cebu. Just G and Gingersnaps share spaces at Shangri-la, Rockwell, Robinsons Metroeast, SM Baguio and SM Pampanga. They also have department store corners at SM Megamall, Robinsons Galleria, Landmark Trinoma, SM Makati, SM Mall of Asia, Robinsons Festival Mall, SM North Edsa, SM Cubao, SM Pampanga, SM Southmall and Robinsons Ermita.

Le Bunny Bleu: Nifty Neon + Lettering 101 Workshop

Posted on Tuesday, 24 June 2014

(Le Bunny Bleu shoes, Bershka top, Romwe skirt, Bagfull bag, Time Depot vintage Casio watch, zeroUV sunglasses) Hype this look on Lookbook here.

Summer sandals need not be boring or height-compromising! While I was thisclose to getting yet another pair of oxfords during my recent visit to Le Bunny Bleu, this bright green pair called out to me way too much that I had to get it ASAP. I have a shortage of green-colored footwear, let alone bright neon open-toe sandals that have a bit of heel on them, so this was just what my shoe collection needed. Wouldn’t hurt to go out of my comfort zone once in a while!

Speaking of comfort zones, I’m sure all of you can relate to me when I say that my life has become so digital - it’s starting to get disconcerting! Instead of manually taking down notes, it’s faster and easier to just take pictures. When I was younger (way before I got into photography), I was one of those kids in school who was always tasked with decorating the blackboard, etc. It seems like I unlearned everything as I grew older and shifted interests! Didn’t think it was even possible. However, I still have a small glimmer of hope that I can revive that non-computer-dependent side of myself that has been on hiatus these past few years.

Good thing Le Bunny Bleu is holding a basic lettering workshop this Saturday!

This is only the first of Le Bunny Bleu’s series of our Crafts Workshops. Super exciting, right? Since Le Bunny Bleu is a romantic vintage brand with old Euro world charm combined with New York modernism, they will be holding workshops (for free!) for their dear customers to celebrate this aesthetic. Their first Lettering 101 workshop will be perfect for beginners who want to know how to do simple lettering and calligraphy. Entrance is absolutely free as well, so there’s absolutely no excuse not to go!

It’s going to be at Le Bunny Bleu’s Shangri-la store on June 28 (Saturday) 10:30am – 12:00pm. The workshop will be conducted by the great Abbey Sy! I might go (probably with Crissey if she’s free) so we’ll see you there, yes?

Participants simply need to wear their own Le Bunny Bleu shoes on the day of the workshop and reserve slots ahead of time at any Le Bunny Bleu store. Slots are limited so please inform them as soon as you can. Once you reserve a slot. they will brief you about what to bring. What’s more fun is that they will also be giving away special gifts to the participants!

Le Bunny Bleu Philippines can be found at 5th Floor Shangri-la Plaza 654-2599 and 2nd Floor Glorietta 5 955-7225. You can also RSVP via mchan@quirksph.com

In the meantime, you can follow Le Bunny Bleu on FacebookInstagram and Twitter

EMODA at Shibuya 109

Posted on Friday, 13 June 2014

I’ve been constantly promoting EMODA through my blog and outfit posts, but I can’t believe that I haven’t done a proper store post yet!

During my quick trip to Tokyo last May, EMODA gave me permission to take pictures of their Shibuya 109 store! This is a huge deal because Japanese clothing brands (and famous shopping malls like 109) almost never allow anyone to take pictures of their stores. So I must thank EMODA a million times for trusting me enough to share these pictures to the public.

Anyhow, the EMODA store in Shibuya 109 is somewhat like their Tokyo flagship store. They recently moved to a different floor because their old location was too small for EMODA’s popularity. More customers can fit in their new location now! Yay!

image

image

Store window display features EMODA’s current S/S 2014 collection “PIN UP LADY”. The pink background is so fresh! EMODA really went all out with pastels this season.

image

image

Summer items in EMODA’s PIN UP LADY concept colors.

image

EMODA x Marilyn Monroe limited collection! I don’t know of these are still available until now, but I do know that they released new EMODA x Playboy Bunny items a few days ago, and EMODA x Champion last March.

I got the cherry print knit crop top in white, and I love it so much because the material is perfect for Manila weather! It’s thin enough to wear with my favorite rainy season jackets.

image

image

Mermaid game is still going strong in Japan this season, and I must say that EMODA’s take on it is so sophisticated and wearable!

image

Can never get enough of EMODA accessories. I’m so surprised they released giant heart-shaped earrings! EMODA’s way of doing cute is still classy.

image

I haven’t had the chance to smell the EMODA perfume yet, but I trust Ena’s taste! I’m sure this smells amazing!

image

image

Pastels for spring/summer. I got the cardigan in blue and the semi-transparent bag in white.

image

Pink, blue and yellow to match with EMODA’s key neutrals. EMODA made me love the combination of pastels and B&W. Never thought they could work so well until now.

image

Pin up lady jackets! Crissey and I have the black and white gingham one! Here you can see how it looks like when it’s reversed. The blue and pink versions are also reversible so it’s like buying two jackets in one!

image

Lots of Japanese girls wear socks with their heels, so cute socks are a must! Love these Pin Up Lady socks (I was able to wear them for a shoot!) because they’re partly sheer! You can’t really find a similar design anywhere else.

image

Jeans area! They’re selling all high-waisted jeans now because it’s such a huge trend in Japan. They also have it in different prints and patterns.

image

EMODA eyewear in creamy, milky colors. The pink ones - I covet!

image

You can’t skip nautical looks if you’re talking about summer fashion.

image

EMODA’s pretty shop staff are always wearing the current collection so it’s easier to visualize how the items look like even if there are no mannequins. In a way, Japanese shop staff serve as live mannequins! I’ve seen customers request for the shop staff’s whole outfits numerous times.

They also have the whole brand’s look down pat, from the hair down to the make-up. EMODA COSMETICS just released a new orange lipstick look last May, and the shop staff at 109 were already wearing it!

image

’90s feel! I never thought I’d wear chokers until EMODA made them look this good.

image

Mirrors all over the store! The shop staff behind me is also wearing the outfit in the photo before this one.

White shoes seem to be a no-brainer in Japan right now. All the girls seem to be wearing them! I’ve always been partial to black footwear, but EMODA’s influence is too strong! I want more white shoes!

image

Lovey Dovey~ lovey dovey dovey!

image

EMODA’s got casual statement tees too. I swear they have everything for every girl and every style!

image

“adidas presents SHIBUYA GIRL’S ELEVEN CUP@109″ was a way for Shibuya 109 to support the 2014 FIFA World Cup in Brazil. Over 70 Shibuya 109 shop staff were asked to style Japan’s national football team’s jerseys in their own way, and it was all super adorable because their photos were all over the entrance of the mall. Passersby were free to vote for their favorite outfit.

11 major brands from Shibuya 109 also released their own collaboration t-shirts, and of course, EMODA was one of them!

image

EMODA lifestyle items - iPhone cases, wallets, make-up pouches, etc.

image

Riding on the ’90s fashion trend! EMODA just released these sky high platform shoes the day of my visit, and every girl in the store already wanted a pair.

image

Chic low heel pointy loafers for everyday use.

image

image

THESE SHOES. I regret not getting a pair! Fortunately, EMODA has a global webstore so I can just order online! No need to fly all the way to Japan to get these products. So convenient, right? I’ve already lost count of how many times I’ve ordered from EMODA’s global webstore! It’s my guilty pleasure, huhu~

image

This Friday the 13th, if you spend over 12,000 JPY (excluding sales tax and postage fee) from EMODA Global Online Store, you can get “WHITE CAMELLIA TOWEL SET” as a novelty gift! They’ll be offering this campaign until stocks last.

Follow EMODA Global’s Facebook here for news and updates! EMODA also released a new iOS app called CAMEREON where you can edit photos, and view EMODA’s current catalog, among other things. Download away!

Hope you enjoyed that little tour of EMODA’s store in Shibuya 109! Hopefully this won’t be the last one!

Samsonite RED Launch - May 7, 2014

Posted on Sunday, 25 May 2014

When I first found out that Samsonite RED was coming to Manila, I couldn’t contain my excitement! These past few months, I’ve seen been seeing news articles and videos of Kim Soo Hyun and Angelababy endorsing this brand. I think Song Joong Ki and Ha Yeon Soo also modeled for them before. Thank you Samsonite for putting all these beautiful people together! When fandoms collide!

The launch event at Century City Mall was also very timely because I just finished watching You Who Came From The Stars. (I wonder if there’s any recent K-drama of the same caliber?) In the drama, Kim Soo Hyun was always sporting backpacks to school. I wish I already had #MyFirstRed when I was in college!

image

With my very own Samsonite “Liebe” bag (small orange). I love it so much - I’ve been using it as my main work bag because it can fit my laptop and small cameras! It is definitely the perfect school bag.

image

By the entrance was an exhibit of Samsonite RED’s current collection. These ones are for the boys.

image

Something I can imagine my dad, brothers or boyfriend can use when they’re traveling.

image

These SR Park Summer bags are perfect for all the girls out there who prefer toting pastel colors!

image

image

Peachy keen! Just the right pop of color to spice up a simple outfit.

image

WeeWillDoodle was there to entertain the crowd by creating an animated mural featuring the newest collection of Samsonite RED.

image

With fellow bloggers Laureen, David, Patricia, and model Hideo (who now has a blog of his own!) just before the event started.

image

Missed these girls!

image

MYX VJ and host, Chino Lui Pio invited everyone to the #MyFirstJump trampoline photo booth. I wanted to have my photo taken too but I was wearing a skirt. :(

image

The launch included a spring/summer 2014 fashion presentation featuring the Unisex, Men’s and Women’s lines of Samsonite RED.

The way it was styled was adorable! We were able to easily see how the bags can blend in with everyday life. The models also did a good job with some of the skits that they did.
