It’s another season of cut-outs, and I am so in. Well, it’s been around for a long time, but I couldn’t really push myself to go completely out of my comfort zone with waist-baring, back-revealing ones that will compromise my usually-conservative style. I find that there are more options for cut-outs now, and my favorite kind would be the ones that show off the neck and shoulders.
Here are three outfits that clearly show my growing obsession for cut-out details. They range from subtle to something more obvious, and I can’t wait to get my hands on more creative cut-out placements in the future.
Pardon the overuse of girly skater skirts for these looks. This formula has become some sort of uniform for me recently!
This is a trendy as I can get. Black and white? Check. Bold stripes? Check. Pointy heels and ankle straps (together or separately)? Check. Not ashamed that I seem like I’m selling out, because this looks just like the B&W stuff I’ve been posting for the past 3 years. I *did* try something new out for this one though, as it’s the first time I’ve worn a vest with a dress!
On a related note, so many bloggers on Lookbook.nu have this exact vest in the same free size. Except I’m most probably shorter than all of them, making it look so much longer and oversized on me. Boo!
The last hurrah for sweater weather. I can’t go out like this anymore, as of this writing. Though I can still manage with light knits, I’m going to miss my chunky sweaters for a while… until I go to Osaka and Kyoto next month! Excited for spring weather, even if it’s a little sad that sakura season started early this year and I won’t be able to be there at its peak!
What’s the story behind purple and yellow always being used as the color scheme for dessert places? I always found it so fascinating to see these two colors often being paired together, and it’s not like yellow is the first thing I think of when you tell me what color is best to pair with purple (and vice versa).
Here’s a relatively simple and relaxed outfit I wore to a casual dinner with my boyfriend a few days ago. The weather has been absolutely lovely recently! I’ve been raving about it to everyone I run into because I’m in love with cold sweater weather so much (Well, except negative Celsius!) that I don’t really mind sounding like a broken record, lol.
These pants from the latest Fall 2012 collection of Tory Burch are my perfect fitting jeans to date! So comfortable and I absolutely love the gold details on the side that make it more than just your ordinary pair of jeans. I haven’t worn blue or dark blue denim pants in a while but I just might rekindle the flame of this old romance. Can you believe that skirts/shorts-loving me used to live in my jeans throughout my early college years?
