More denim inspiration for those who need ideas on how to rock skinny jeans! I personally prefer to keep it clean and simple when I’m wearing jeans, so I tend to pair them with plain tops or classic patterns that are just as straightforward. Less is more!

We all know that denim never goes out of style, which is exactly why it was top of mind when I started listing down items for my book, 150 Style Essentials For Every Girl. I don’t think there’s any place in the world where nobody is wearing denim, and this is only testament to how important and versatile it is for everybody, fashion-conscious or not!
I started my interest in denim when I was in 6th grade, when I asked my mom, for the very first time, to buy me a pair of elephant pants because it was all the rage among my friends then. Thank God OOTDs weren’t invented yet because I was such a fashion victim, lol. I continued to wear them as I transitioned to high school, until I outgrew pants in general and instead turned to shorts and skirts.
But there was never a time when I had zero denim in my closet. I always had a pair or two until I was able to afford getting my own clothes and choose the styles that I liked. Eventually, I learned that skinny jeans suited my body type best, and got them in different denim washes, this classic, dark blue wash included. I have friends who prefer lighter washes, loose/baggy styles, or ones that come with a few rips here and there, but they’re denim all the same!
Speaking of denim…
In the spirit of Christmas, Wrangler Philippines decided to give away my #TriciaGosingtianStyleBook as gifts to 10 lucky winners everyday until the 23rd! It’s only the 5th day today, and so far, 50 people have already won their own free copies of my book. Super easy! It’s also my way of thanking you guys for all the continued support.
Anyhow, all the winners had to do was follow and tweet @WranglerPH a Tricia-inspired denim outfit photo! The 10 best ones for the day will be announced every 8PM. You can keep on joining everyday until the 23rd.
What’s even more awesome about it is that the denim contest is open to Asia! So to those from Singapore, Malaysia, Indonesia, Japan, etc etc who were asking me how to get a copy of my book, this is your chance!
My love for sneakers and sporty/street-meets-chic style is growing at epic proportions. If I didn’t have to challenge myself to wear new things everyday, my daily uniform would probably revolve around snapbacks and sneaker wedges paired with girly elements like lace and a-line skirts.
Snapback caps, however, aren’t the only things that automatically give an outfit a street/sporty vibe. I recently discovered how big, bulky watches can also add to the effect.
And coincidentally, my new Baby-G matches the exact metallic quality of my sneaker wedges. Pairing shoes and bags is an easy way to make an outfit cohesive, but pairing shoes with timepieces also creates interesting results.
Obligatory “must sell this watch” pose, lol. My denim jacket also has silver studs. Match your metals!
Have not adjusted the time and date yet when I took this. After taking this photo, I spent the next minute laughing my ass off since the watch reminded me so much of the Google Authenticator “G” logo. G is for Google. Baby-G. Just G. Tricia G. So many Gs in this world.
If anyone’s interested, this watch model is BA-110-8A and it’s available for P6995. More details here.
I think I bought around 4 different kinds of denim jackets in the last 2 months! What is this addiction?
With 90s fashion coming back with a vengeance, the denim jacket is surely one of this season’s most important staples! My relationship with denim jackets go way back 7th grade, the same time elephant pants caught on (to my dismay). Good thing denim jackets were carefully tried and tested (with good reviews) through the years, and now they’re slowly creeping back into my closet after so long.
One of the best things about denim jackets is their ability to put a fun, street vibe to almost anything! Just G included a good (and affordable) denim jacket in one of their recent collections, so I put together two different looks to show how you can wear it with other Just G items!
Grungy denim and flirty florals always make a good combination because of the contrast between tough and sweet.
Here’s something a little inspired by K-pop (mostly the headband and the shoes). Denim jackets also work surprisingly well with different kinds of prints and patterns! Who would’ve thought?
Another one of my cliche spring/summer combinations. Denim and floral prints are two separate spring/summer staples, and pairing them together create a very pleasant contrast between sweet and edgy.
I’ve had these denim shorts since about 2007, and thank goodness they still fit me! TBH, I was quite afraid to try them on after so long, thinking that I may have gained weight since then. But genetics has been very kind to me and my siblings - most of our items from way, way back still fit us until now. Phew! Saves us a lot of time and effort buying bigger or smaller sizes. Thanks mom and dad! We’re all dreading that moment when gravity and age finally decide to take their toll on us! T_T
On a related note, I finally got a perfect-fitting floral bomber jacket! It’s not too thick so I can wear it often without sweating like mad. Fast forward to next week, please? Looking forward to spring weather in Japan!
These pants from the latest Fall 2012 collection of Tory Burch are my perfect fitting jeans to date! So comfortable and I absolutely love the gold details on the side that make it more than just your ordinary pair of jeans. I haven’t worn blue or dark blue denim pants in a while but I just might rekindle the flame of this old romance. Can you believe that skirts/shorts-loving me used to live in my jeans throughout my early college years?
