SM Makati: A Date with Jeffrey

(SM Woman skirt, SM Accessories necklace, earrings, and clutch, Jeffrey Campbell shoes all from SM Makati) Hype this look on Lookbook here.

A date with my new Jeffrey Campbell shoes, I mean. For about 3 years now, the brand has been available exclusively at SM Fashion Forum, at the 3rd floor of SM Makati. Whenever I tell my friends that they don’t have to fly out of the country just to buy JC shoes, they don’t believe me! Classic case of “pics or it didn’t happen”, so I hope this post is enough proof.

Back in 2010, I went through all the hassle of ordering from a international site just to get my first pair of Jeffrey Campbells. I found out about the brand through fashion bloggers who featured the JC Foxy Heel Platforms on their blogs. I ended up getting a pair for myself because of the chunky heels and edgy design! 4 years have passed, and while my taste in footwear may have drastically changed since then (don’t know if I can still pull off wearing JC Litas given my current style), I still feel strongly about Jeffrey Campbell designs. They keep up with trends, but also offer classic designs here and there.

Visiting SM Makati regularly has its perks, and one of them is finding out about special weekly deals. Jeffrey Campbell had a 15% off discount on all regular items last week. Of course, I didn’t miss the opportunity to get a pair for myself!

There were so many pairs to choose from, but I ultimately decided on this particular one, for a lot of reasons. It’s definitely different from the simple and safe designs that I usually pick, but I love how it’s still wearable and versatile enough for everyday use.

I dared myself to style it for a casual dinner date, and with some effort, it surprisingly worked! My boyfriend (my real date slash photographer who was starting to wonder who Jeffrey was) even told me that these shoes look more comfortable than the ones that I always wear. He would know - I always express my discomfort to him whenever I wear sky-high pointy toe shoes (lol @ the things I do for beauty).

Finally got to wear my SM Woman pleated midi skirt too! I’ve had this in my closet for about a month now, and I’m glad I saved these perfect pleats for this perfect date.

Black and white with gold accents is a combination that I will never, ever get tired of. True enough, it didn’t fail me when I tried to style a date outfit with my edgy JC shoes!

Have fun shopping at the Jeffrey Campbell section in SM Makati! Maybe I’ll see you there this weekend?

(JRunway VISION STREET WEAR x 3rd by VANQUISH top and pants, EMODA choker, Blackfive boots, Kiyosa nails) Hype this look on Lookbook here. Thanks Farrah for helping me take my photos!

This is what happens when Pucca meets Japanese Harajuku style… in the Philippines? Wasn’t sure if I could pull this look off without help from a Japanese glam team, so I took some cues from my own shoot in Tokyo last March. JAPAN’S IMPACT! My first-hand experience over there gave a major boost of confidence, so forgive me just this once for trying something new out!

JRunway is the first ever Japanese multi-brand store in Southeast Asia, and it showcases more than 15 hottest fashion brands from Japan. Currently, these brands are available at 68 Orchard Road, Plaza Singapura, #01-54, Singapore 238839.

Not in Singapore? Don’t fret - They recently opened an online store, Shop JRunway, and are currently working on delivery to Malaysia, Thailand, Philippines, Indonesia and Australia. I’ll definitely keep you guys posted on any updates! I’m so happy Japanese brands are slowly becoming more accessible now. Just a little longer!

In the meantime, I’m inviting everyone to visit their new Special Feature page, Trends page to read about what’s hot in Japan right now, fashion snaps, news, recommended items, etc. Recognize anyone from their favorite fashion bloggers page? /wink

Every fortnight, they will publish a new Feature Page, but for now, the theme is Trendy Office Lady Style. So different from what I’m wearing in this post, but I think my usual style is very office-friendly! You can find more office-friendly fashion on JRunway.

(Blackfive top, jacket, skort and heels, EMODA bag, Time Depot Casio Sheen watch) Hype this look on Lookbook here.

Haven’t done color blocking in so long. My comfort zone is black and white paired with a single color, and I can’t believe I almost let myself forget that color blocking can be fun too. It is during these times that I’m glad I document my outfits. It’s a lot easier to spot certain patterns if you see your photos next to each other. More than just showing people my style, I think my Lookbook serves as a constant reminder that I’m a work in progress. And that white tops really go with everything, lol.

(Le Bunny Bleu shoes, MURUA jacket, Asian iCandy dress) Hype this look on Lookbook here.

Le Bunny Bleu’s Fall/Winter 2014 collection just came out last weekend, and here’s a teaser before I reveal all the new shoes in a separate post. I don’t normally go for mid-heels (not low/not high), but my recent trip to Japan made me reconsider switching my high heels for a more practical height. Comfort before anything else! Crissey and I spotted a bunch of girls wearing similar sophisticated-but-kawaii shoes in JR Osaka Station. If you’re going to wear mid-heel pumps, might as well wear the cutest, most comfortable ones!

Considered it perfect timing when I visited Le Bunny Bleu Shang, and spotted this bejeweled pair in black. The ribbon is super understated, so it’s not too cutesy for my current, more “mature” personal style. My mom accompanied me to the store, and was actually thisclose to getting one for everyday office use! I could see this being a great everyday shoe because rounded toes are generally more forgiving than pointed ones.

Paired my girly shoes with an equally-girly dress with musical notes on it! It’s the first time that I’ve ever worn this print, and I’m obsessed. Need more of this in my life!

Le Bunny Bleu Philippines can be found at 5th Floor Shangri-la Plaza (654-2599), and 2nd Floor Glorietta 5 (955-7225).

You can follow Le Bunny Bleu on FacebookInstagram and Twitter.

Yesterday was the first day of autumn (Autumnal Equinox), and while we don’t have four seasons here in Manila, it’s definitely becoming a lot cooler nowadays!

I just got back from a short trip to Osaka, and noticed how so many Japanese girls were pairing their leather jackets with pencil skirts, platform boots and beanies. Instant casual “fashion editor” look! I’m in too deep - I got about 3 or 4 pencil skirts in Japan. This is saying a lot because I usually go for girly A-line skirts!

Charriol: Cherie Amour Jewelry Line

Charriol is an international luxury brand that specializes in fine Swiss timepieces, jewelry and accessories. I’ve worn my Charriol watch a couple of times, but now it’s time to focus on their jewelry line!

Show “amour” to the chéri in your life with Charriol’s Cherie Amour collection! If I were only a married man, I’d give my special ladies one item each from the collection - the necklace to my mom, the bracelet to my sister, the ring to my wife, and the earrings to my daughter. I just might propose this idea to my boyfriend, just in case he wants to surprise me 15-20+ years from now.

What I love about this collection most is the juxtaposition of the dainty, sparkly hearts, and Charriol’s iconic sterling silver twisted cables. These feminine pieces will definitely speak to every girl’s heart!

In the Philippines, Charriol is exclusively distributed by Stores Specialists, Inc. (SSI) - a member of The SSI Group - and is located at Greenbelt 4, Power Plant Mall, Rustan’s Makati, Rustan’s Tower, Gateway Mall, SM Mall of Asia, 158 Designers’ Boulevard Alabang Town Center, TriNoma, Robinsons Magnolia, Robinsons Midtown, Newport Resorts World, The Podium, Rustan’s Ayala Cebu, Abreeza Davao and Limketkai Cagayan de Oro.

Follow Charriol on Facebook, Twitter and Instagram.
