I dub thee *the* IT skort of the season. If you follow fashion blogs closely enough, I’m pretty sure you’ve seen this design already worn in so many different ways. But definitely not yet in this color! Thanks to Apartment 8 for coming out with this mint color!
The sailor top is from way back their holiday collection, but I think it’s still super appropriate for summer because it gives that cutesy, youthful vibe while being both classy and functional as well. In a way that it lets your arms and pits breathe, lol.
As you may have already noticed, I cut my hair shorter and dyed my hair lighter! I’m more than happy with it as I finally got rid of all the damaged ends, and my roots are growing out fast enough to make the previously bleached parts look like I actually went for the ombre look on purpose. Even if I didn’t!
There’s no denying that summer always gives me mixed feelings. I am always torn between 1) going out and enjoying the sun while it’s at its hottest, or 2) staying in and blasting the air con on maximum while enjoying a frozen fruit shake or a whole pint of ice cream (I recently stocked on some Ben and Jerry’s Cookie Dough! HUZZAH!).
As much as I love fall and spring weather (not so much winter as I’d just freeze to death, already having experienced negative 15 to negative 20 degree C weather in the past), I also appreciate the functionality of not wearing bulky sweaters and layering. Not too fussy, and not too complicated. I admit the hot temperature gets to me sometimes, and makes me overly lazy to think of what to wear, but summer only comes once a year, and it’s the most no-brainer time to wear cute one-pieces, sleeveless tops, short shorts and skirts, sheer clothes that let your skin breathe, and hot summer hues that can keep you looking cool.
Speaking of summer hues, Mango’s current S/S collection showcases a ton of sweet, dainty pieces in both warm and cool colors. While it’s always an option to find a compromise or strike a balance between the two, it’s also quite refreshing to set your mind to only one, and work around it.
This time, I styled 3 outfits in cool mint and green, and 2 outfits in warm coral and red. Happy and bright easter egg colors too!

There’s no staple quite like the romper, and this one comes in a super trendy V-neck style! However, what makes this romper so incredibly me is the scalloped hem! It’s that adorable little detail that makes this seemingly sexy romper so fresh and youthful.

Just because it’s summer doesn’t mean that you should stay away from wearing pants! This pair has a loose, breezy fit that you can also wear to the beach since skinny pants might look too weird, and not to mention, uncomfortable in the sand.

This would have to be my favorite look from this post since it would definitely make for an appropriate day-to-night summer outfit. Tuck it out and wear it with flats during the day, and tuck it in and wear it with a statement necklace and chic pointy heels at night.

Another key neckline trend this summer, apart from the deep v-neck is the halter… which I think is a wonderful alternative to those who are more open to baring their shoulders than their chests. I love this one so much that I wish it came in other colors too as I’d buy every single one in a heartbeat. <3

For those like me who get cold easily especially at night or in malls and other establishments, here’s a perfect spring/summer blazer in the most striking red you can ever imagine. For this look, I wore it with a sleeveless, sheer button-down, and these short, high-waist printed shorts (that were made just for the Asian market, fyi!) to properly balance out the covered arms.
Thanks to RG Gabunada for the photos.
Friday cheat day! I actually posted this some time ago, but I really waited for MOFW Singapore before I decided to blog about it. Tattle Tuesdays is another Singaporean blogshop that I absolutely love for their taste in classy pieces and sophisticated twist to basics, so I totally needed to include them in this mini blog event!
Who says bibs are only for babies? This one comes in a mature pale mint shade that you can dress up by pairing it with a coral skirt such as this one I’m wearing here (Don’t you love the unique design?), or dress down by wearing it with a simple pair or skinny jeans for a casual, daytime look.
I cinched it with a belt for a fake peplum effect, and wore simple accessories that you can never go wrong with. I’m sure by now you guys have noticed how much I love wearing pearl earrings, and accessories that aren’t too wild and crazy!
I would’ve worn nude or coral lipstick to match the skirt, but I decided to create a contrast to all the subdued colors by wearing red lipstick! I’ve been wearing a lot of mint and coral combination coordinates with pale lip colors, so I wanted to do something different this time.
Also, sorry for not uploading this last Tuesday. LOL
Subtle print-on-print on the 4th day of My Own Fashion Week, Singapore Edition! These shorts from Ellysage are quite a huge statement. The loud tropical print is quite unlike me, but I love it for being the first of its kind in my closet of black and white.
Since I don’t think loud print-on-loud print trend suits me well, I decided to play the shorts down a bit by wearing a sheer floral-print top and a light beige chiffon blazer that is actually quite nifty! Under sunlight, the floral print of the top shows through the thin fabric of the blazer.
Just to give this outfit a pop of color, I decided to turn to green and turquoise accents! I made sure there was a bright contrast between the color of the blazer and the color of the shoes, since I didn’t want to wear accessories (again) and this is one of my no-fail ways to make an outfit look interesting as is.
Fresh summer look in the middle of the rainy season! Let’s give all my black clothes and red lipstick a break for a while, shall we? I just got back from my Melbourne trip, where it was pretty much only the start of spring after a long winter. I went to Zara, and found all the nice spring/summer clothes from last season all on display, and I fell in love with pastels and light colors again! I missed this!
And what better place to look for all things cute and dainty than my favorite Just G? Coincidentally, they were selling a ton of mint and coral stuff the last time I dropped by their store.
Pairing mint and coral is always a wise idea! It’s not the first time that I’ve sported this combo. Mint is a cool color and coral is a warm color, so the combination makes for a bright and cheerful contrast.
Because I am so OC about details, I painted my nails a cute lavender shade to complement the mint and coral. Make-up wise, I decided to keep it as light and simple as my outfit - very minimal eye make-up, green contacts and a peachy-pink lip color for a change. After wearing this out for a day, I think I warmed up to this kind of cutesy look again!
