MOFW 2012 Hong Kong Day 7

Tricia Gosingtian Giordano Hong Kong

(Disney x Giordano hoodie, Ellysage skirt, Choies wedges) Hype this look on Lookbook here.

It’s the end of the week, and I’m afraid I’ll have to end My Own Fashion Week Hong Kong today. It has been so fun, being able to wear all my new purchases and feature brands from a specific country for 7 consecutive days. I started this whole concept for the heck of it, but somehow I feel so clingy every time I reach the last day of every series. I was planning on going straight to MOFW Fukuoka when I get back from my trip in Janaury, but it seems like it won’t be long until I hold another one of these things this month. :D

I’m spicing things up in my next MOFW, so please do watch out for that. If I had to give a clue about it, it will just be one word. BATIK!

Tricia Gosingtian Giordano Hong Kong

Anyhow, I saved the best for last for this edition of MOFW Hong Kong. Giordano has always been one of the most trusted brands I’ve known when it comes to classics and basics. As a kid, I owned quite a number of plain v-neck and round collar tees and straight-cut denims from them. Although I somewhat eventually outgrew them as I decided to experiment more with fashion and integrate trends into my personal style, this Disney x Giordano collaboration made me think twice about my decision to let this brand go off my radar.

Tricia Gosingtian Giordano Hong Kong

Houndstooth-print Mickey silhouette on a batwing hoodie with the most adorable Mickey ears attached to the hood? No one in their right mind will overlook this kind of perfection. Totes love Disney, but hats off to Giordano for this modern take on our favorite childhood character. Never thought I’d ever go the street/urban wear route, but I couldn’t help it. And you all know exactly why. <3

Tricia Gosingtian Giordano Disney

Too bad this collab won’t ever be released here in Manila! But this shouldn’t stop you guys from visiting the nearest Giordano. See you all again next time for another round of My Own Fashion Week! Expect the next one 2-3 weeks from now. :D

MOFW 2012 Hong Kong Day 6

Tricia Gosingtian Hong Kong Chocoolate

(:CHOCOOLATE top, Sheinside jacket, Soeurs shorts, FashionCookie ShoeAvenue wedges, Forever 21 bag, EMODA earrings) Hype this look on Lookbook here. Hair curled with a triple barrel curling iron that I got from my salon (Indigo Salon).

Cats are everywhere on this blog! They’re on my wedges, on my headband, on this shirt, on my favorite shirt (1, 2, 3), on my platform heels (1, 2), on my sweater, and on my skirt. And this still doesn’t include the things that I haven’t taken photos of.

Cats will always tickle my fancy, it seems! I think I would survive, if someone were to dare me to inject at least one feline element to my daily outfits. I don’t even know when my penchant for cats started. I’ve also never had a chance to own a cat before. There’s just something about them that draws me in. I just turn into a little ball of fluff when I see cats on the street or at friends’ houses. <3

My friends in high school used to tell me how I reminded them so much of cats. I guess I’ll have to admit that I may have odd cat-like behaviors at times. I’m a creature of the night, and I’m always lazy and sleepy during the day. I can be really silent when I move, and I am very obsessive-compulsive. Being alone doesn’t bother me either - it has never been an issue for me to go to shop or even eat alone in public places. If I’m busy, I prefer not being pestered into doing things I don’t like. I don’t normally have a lot of energy, but when presented with something I really like, my enthusiasm can shoot through the roof. Some may think I look snobbish, but I’m just really shy around strangers. And based on my nail pictures on IG, I obvs have a special relationship with my nails…

Tricia Gosingtian Hong Kong Chocoolate

Changed my eye color for this entry to get light blue-gray cat-like eyes! Thanks to Japanese Candy for the COCORO GRAY lenses. :3

All the talk about cats in this entry was brought about by the cat print on my shirt! I have a similar one that I’ve posted a number of times before, but this one is not sleeveless and has “MEOW” spelled correctly. :CHOCOOLATE, where this shirt is from, is a brand that you can’t miss if you go to Hong Kong (or Macau). They have this lovely minimalist black and white store design that complements all the clothes that they sell. They have wonderful selections for BOTH boys and girls - my mom and my brothers would always find something they like in this store. :D They produce really good basics and classic patterns that will surely last a long time in your closet. Even their packaging and window displays look cool.

Tricia Gosingtian Hong Kong Chocoolate

Boyish outfit for a change. A predictable me would’ve worn this with a girly skirt and platform heels, but I realized I should wear my shorts, boots, hoodies and leather jackets together more often. How do you like the change?

Tricia Gosingtian My Own Fashion Week Hong Kong b+ab

Someone clearly had fun shopping from the b+ab x Angelababy collection! All the creamy, girly knitwear and pearl-embellished items seemed like they were meant for me. I know that was such a self-absorbed way to put it, lol. But seriously, I was so sad that some of the items in the collection were sold out already, by the time I flew to Hong Kong. This sweater would’ve looked perfect if I were able to get that adorable pink tulle skirt that this was supposedly paired with. Ahh, if it’s meant to be, it will be. Perhaps God was sending me a sign, that I already have something similar in my closet and that I don’t really need any more. It’s so hard to be me sometimes. I am willing to give in to consumerism so easily. T_T

Tricia Gosingtian My Own Fashion Week Hong Kong G2000

(G2000 jacket, Romwe top and shorts, Choies cat wedges) Hype this look on Lookbook here.

If I had to endorse one Hong Kong super brand, it would definitely be G2000. They’ve been producing smart casual work wear for the past 20 years or so, and expanding to different countries (especially in Asia and the Middle East) all over the world since their big break into the fast fashion industry.

I own quite a number of G2000 coats, which have all proven to be some of the best ones that I have. Most of them are made of high quality wool and are super effective in giving me the right amount of warmth. I am absolutely in love with all their outerwear, I swear! They carry some pretty good knitwear and suit sets, as well as blazers and jackets of different styles and colors to cater to all sorts of body types and personal tastes.

While the brand can easily be mistaken as extremely conservative and old-fashioned, it really is up to you to judge if it suits your tastes or not! But personally, I think they’ve been doing a great job of supplying us with classic-but-updated pieces that adapt to trends without “selling out”.

Tricia Gosingtian My Own Fashion Week Hong Kong G2000

Like this boxy jacket, for example! These are the kinds of clothes I would never mind paying a lot for. <3 It’s a timeless 50’s Chanel-esque design that would look wonderful with something just as timeless, like a circle skirt or any matching bottom made of the same exact fabric.

But where’s the fun in that? I always play safe when it comes to fashion, but once in a while, I get motivated to put a little twist to my basics for a change. :D For this particular look, I paired my jacket with one of the most bizarre items that I currently have in my closet.

Tricia Gosingtian My Own Fashion Week Hong Kong G2000

Let me blind you with my unique “car sunshade” shorts. No fail head-turner. I feel like I can actually use them as a light reflector if I suddenly need one in a photoshoot, lol.

(2% x miffy top, Zara shorts, Esperanza boots, Dazzled Bags satchel, SM Accessories necklace and earrings, Bayo glasses) Hype this look on Lookbook here. Photos by RG.

2% x miffy collection for day 3 of My Own Fashion Week Hong Kong! 2% is one of the uniquely “Hong Kong” brands that I never fail to visit - they have a wonderful selection of brands that cater to different tastes, but you can also mix and match all their items to create interesting coordinates that perfectly reflect 2%’s classic but playful personality.

2% has been getting Lena Fuji to model for them for quite a while now (I think the first time I saw her pictures in the store was about 2007 or 2008). Being such a huge fan of her, I wanted a 2% x miffy top of my own! The brand came out with a series of photos of her wearing giant miffy ears, and super adorable short shorts with a giant ball of fluff (resembling a bunny tail) attached to it. Who wouldn’t say no to that? Anything that Lena models is sure to be a huge hit, I’m sure. This 2% x miffy collaboration was no exception.

Tricia Gosingtian My Own Fashion Week Hong Kong

The search for the perfect 2% x miffy item was on. I scoured the racks for something that explicitly showed miffy, but also something that didn’t look too much like a normal graphic tee. And voila, this one popped right up once I set my mind on finding the safest choice - black and white… aka MY COMFORT ZONE. This particular piece of cuteness came in the form of a flattering loose-fit shoulder-slit top with a print that was just so me.

Tricia Gosingtian My Own Fashion Week Hong Kong

So I paired it with a classy pair of gold sequin shorts, one of my favorite purchases from my Kuala Lumpur trip last 2011. Thanks to Bobo for wearing the exact same design during our short (no pun intended) date back then - I was completely sold. She wore it with a sheer black top and a classic black blazer. Nothing like a little sparkle to put a little magic into an outfit, yeah? Paired the shorts with a gold satchel to keep the whole “casual with a glam twist” look on a roll.

Tricia Gosingtian My Own Fashion Week Hong Kong

My boyfriend and I instantly fell in love with the quality of the sun the time we took these pictures. MAGIC HOUR.

It’s been such a refreshing change to have him help me take my outfit photos recently, and to pretty much just have outdoor shots that I honestly prefer more than my normal self-taken studio shots. It feels quite nostalgic since I used to take a lot of outdoor outfit shots when I first started this blog. Wish I could have him around all the time so I can regularly post beautiful quality photos like these on my blog! You might want to visit his personal blog to see more of the stuff he likes, other than me TROLOLOLOLOL

Stay tuned for my next MOFW post tomorrow! Also, advanced happy 20th birthday to my baby brother Calel

Tricia Gosingtian MOFW Hong Kong Chicwish

(Chicwish top, jacket, skirt, Forever 21 boots, olive + piper bracelets, SM Accessories earrings) Hype this look on Lookbook here. Thanks to RG for taking my pictures!

Day 2 of MOFW Hong Kong and I’m wearing mostly Chicwish! You might have already noticed them all over Lookbook.nu before, since they sponsor quite a number of high karma gainers there. Did you know that they’re actually based in Hong Kong? I’ve done quite a number of sponsored entries wearing their clothes before, but I’ve always failed to mention that all my Chicwish packages come from Hong Kong. Since the items are sent from one Asian country to another, and they chose the most convenient shipping methods, I only have to pay a very minimal amount (if any) at the post office. Another reason for us to go crazy with online shopping this Christmas, yes?

Tricia Gosingtian MOFW Hong Kong Chicwish

This time, I picked items out from their recent collection, and created a coordinate with a “girly military” theme in mind. I made sure to balance out the toughness of the camo print jacket and boots with some softer elements like…

…this short khaki skater skirt and this button-down top with the most adorable buttons.

Tricia Gosingtian MOFW Hong Kong Chicwish

Earrings embellished with pearls! This pair from SM Accessories is slowly climbing up the charts as one of my ultimate faves. I love the unique design that I can easily match with everything in my closet. It is the combination of shapes that makes it so interesting to look at!

Instead of wearing cliche military boots, I opted for taupe-colored lace-ups with sky high platforms and chunky brown heels. They look like JCs but they’re not!

Stay tuned for my next MOFW HK entry! Also, so sorry I couldn’t post this yesterday! Got pretty caught up with birthday activities with my loved ones. But thank you for all the overwhelming greetings in my social networking sites. So happy. <3

(Sussan top, Romwe shorts, Luxury Mall sneaker wedges, Sunpocket shades from Terminal Store from Ronac Art Center, spiked bracelet from a store in Haji Lane Singapore, Forever 21 necklace) Hype this look on Lookbook here.

I’m so sad I’m on my last look for “My Own Fashion Week” Australia edition! I swear this whole project of mine has brought nothing except good news for me and my once-lost discipline for blogging everyday. I remember there used to be a time when I would go for a week without updating at all! Shame on me, but I can proudly say that it won’t happen again any time soon. I’m in a full-force blogging mood, so expect more entries in the next couple of days. Well, at least the days before I leave for my Hong Kong trip! It’ll be a relaxed vacation of sorts, so I probably won’t be bringing my laptop with me, but I’ll definitely make sure to queue some posts on certain events that I haven’t shared yet. :D

Tricia Gosingtian MOFW Australia

Sundays call for simple and relaxed outfits that I can easily move in. This top from Sussan was such a steal! It has a very nice metallic sheen to it that I really love, because it’s just the right amount of dressy that can be used for both sophisticated and casual looks.

I know I almost never wear sneakers, but this particular pair of sneaker wedges that I’m wearing here is absolute perfection! It’s not too high and not too chunky, so it can still pass off as normal sneakers. Super comfortable that I can see myself wearing this pair when traveling in the future!

Tricia Gosingtian MOFW Australia

Now that was a good week, yeah? I hope everyone enjoyed it as much as I did! Blogging everyday? Never thought I could do it until MOFW happened. I’ll be missing doing Australian brand-integrated personal style entries, but there will still be more MOFW entries to look forward to in November and January. What’s exciting about the next ones is that they’re both right up my alley! Fans of Hong Kong and Japan, get ready! :D

MOFW 2012 Australia Day 6

Tricia Gosingtian My Own Fashion Week MOFW Australia

(Portmans cardigan, Bardot clutch, FashionCookie ShoeAvenue boots, Forever 21 top and skirt) Hype this look on Lookbook here.

New hair color! I opted for a much darker shade this time, since the bleach (from a long time ago) would just refuse to die even after I’ve dyed it brown so many times already. Hopefully it doesn’t fade to blonde again. How do you like it? NGL, I camwhored a lot today because I’m sooo in love with this new color. The richer and darker brown shade allows me to do my make-up a bit lighter too!

Tricia Gosingtian My Own Fashion Week MOFW Australia

Anyhow, for today’s MOFW, I decided to tap into my wild side and play with different animal prints. To complete and toughen the whole look, I wore my ultimate “it” item of the season, the leatherette skirt, with my new studded wedged boots.

I didn’t completely turn away from my girly style though, as I still kept my favorite pearl accessories.

Watch out for my last MOFW Australia post tomorrow!

MOFW 2012 Australia Day 5

Tricia Gosingtian My Own Fashion Week Australia

(Forever New parka, Romwe embellished top, FashionCookie ShoeAvenue wedges, Fashion Republic leggings) Hype this look on Lookbook here.

Day 5 of My Own Fashion Week features Forever New, or Ever New, as we know it here in Manila. I swear it is high up my charts now when it comes to go-to places for quality fashion, and I couldn’t be happier to know that we don’t need to travel all the way to Australia anymore if we wanted to get our hands on their lovely items.

Recently, I was invited to the opening of the Ever New store in Rockwell. Ask the salesladies in the store about a girl who spent a whole 20 minutes just deliberating on whether or not she was going to buy this parka.

The hesitation came from whether or not it would be wise for me to buy this kind of outerwear, since we don’t really get all four seasons here. When I tried this parka on, I instantly fell in love with the design, as I don’t have anything similar in my wardrobe at the moment.

Tricia Gosingtian My Own Fashion Week Australia

In the end, after much thought, I gave in. I get cold easily, and airconditioning can get a rather crazy in malls anyway. SOLD! I regret nothing. The 20 minutes of my life spent deliberating about this parka? Worth every second. It was quite pricey but a good investment, if I should say so myself. The gold accents make it look so classy, and I can totally see myself wearing this over and over again in the next few years. I wish it came in black as well!

Tricia Gosingtian My Own Fashion Week Australia

Watch out for the last two days of My Own Fashion Week Australia this weekend!

MOFW 2012 Australia Day 4

Tricia Gosingtian My Own Fashion Week Australia

(Both from Globalize The Cassette Society sweater and Living Doll skirt, Bagfull bag, Vishoes wedges) Hype this look on Lookbook here.

Lightning sweater and shiny pleated skirt for My Own Fashion Week Day 4. Both these items are from a store called Globalize, also known as Australia’s hottest youth retailer! They carry Her Majesty, Mink Pink, Nana Judy, Kiss Chacey, Lacoste, Ladakh, Diesel, Elwood, Converse, Ben Sherman, Crooked Teeth, Dark Dreamer, Ebony & Ivory, Eleven Raindrops, Pennies & Dimes and Silent Poetry to name a few.

Tricia Gosingtian My Own Fashion Week Australia

There is a certain rebellious street fashion quality to all these brands, and I absolutely think it’s genius to put them all together in one big store for everyone to celebrate and take part in! It’s like one big happy hipster party in Globalize. I even want their music playlist!

So I decided to wear neon with my lightning sweater for an electric feel! My statement about neon still stands - they are so bright and eye-catching that they can totally work as your only accessories.

Tricia Gosingtian My Own Fashion Week Australia

And this skirt! Where do I even start? I almost never wear skirts of this length but it’s metallic and nice and pleated and nothing short of perfect. Paired with the giant lightning on my sweater and the neon accents, I don’t know if there can ever be anything as blinding as this.

MOFW 2012 Australia Day 3

Tricia Gosingtian My Own Fashion Week Australia Sportsgirl

(Sportsgirl sweater, Zara skirt, Forever 21 bag, Cheap Fashion Finds necklace) Hype this look on Lookbook here.

Third day into My Own Fashion Week and I decided to wear a peach sweater from Sportsgirl, another one of Australia’s great retail brands. The thing I love most about this sweater, apart from the cute color, is the extra long sleeve design. If I don’t wear this sweater properly, the sleeves can go longer than the whole length of my arm. I don’t think it’s too sloppy since I feel like the length can become handy in the long run. I dislike wearing gloves during winter (I can’t function, and not to mention, text properly!), so I’d rather just cover my whole hands with oversized sweaters and jackets.

Tricia Gosingtian My Own Fashion Week Australia Sportsgirl

Following the whole opposite seasons in Australia thing, I decided to not wear any black today! Good news! I bet you guys are already sick and tired of me always wearing black and white with a single color accent.

Tricia Gosingtian My Own Fashion Week Australia Sportsgirl

This whole look is loosely inspired by Lana del Rey (LOVE HER) and her gorgeous H&M photos with her wearing a fluffy peach sweater. She also graced the cover of Vogue Australia this month of October. It’s all very timely since I’m dedicating a whole week of my blog to Australia.

Watch out for Day 4 of My Own Fashion Week Australia tomorrow!

MOFW 2012 Australia Day 2

Tricia Gosingtian My Own Fashion Week Australia

(Bardot floral gradient top, Romwe jacket and pants, S&H heels, Dazzled Bags satchel) Hype this look on Lookbook here.

When I went to Melbourne, I wanted to go crazy at Bardot. Someone bring it to Manila! All their items scream sass and sophistication.

Tricia Gosingtian My Own Fashion Week Australia

As soon as I laid my eyes on this gradient top, I knew I had to have it! If my mom wasn’t around to stop me, I would’ve also gotten a jacket and a pair of trousers in the same exact fabric.

Just imagine if I wore these three items all together, lol.

Tricia Gosingtian My Own Fashion Week Australia

I naturally matched the yellow-green of my top with a bag of a similar shade. I know I’m months late with the neon trend, but I only recently acknowledged its knack for being a bold statement. No need for accessories if you’ve got something as bright as this. Kept it simple and fuss-free by wearing all the embellishment on my jacket instead of my neck and wrists.

Tricia Gosingtian My Own Fashion Week Australia

Hope you enjoyed the second day of my blog’s mini event. Watch out for my next post tomorrow! :)

MOFW 2012 Australia Day 1

Tricia Gosingtian MOFW Australia

(Aje top, Tracyeinny skirt, Dazzled Bags satchel, CMG wedges) Hype this look on Lookbook here.

Welcome to another round of My Own Fashion Week! This time, I’ll be having an Australian edition where I incorporate Australian brands and items from my recent Melbourne trip to my daily personal style entries.

Tricia Gosingtian MOFW Australia

It’s the first day and I’m cheating already, by posting an old look that I already posted on Lookbook! I know I am partly to blame, since I got quite sickly today and I decided to spend the whole afternoon resting in bed instead of going out for work and errands. No chance to dress up there!

But moving on, this top was recently sent to me by an HK-based store that sells different brands from all over the world. I was torn whether or not to include this look in my November Hong Kong MOFW instead, but I figured Aje deserves an entry and a spotlight of its own.

Tricia Gosingtian MOFW Australia

Aje’s collections are totally lust-worthy, and I’m happy to be able to wear and style their The Patchwork Romantic Spring/Summer 2011-2012 Skotolo top in my own way. The oversized, puffy sleeves, with the off shoulder cotton, make for a wonderful, luxurious gypsy look. Think Esmeralda in Disney’s The Hunchback of Notre Dame, minus the sexy, plunging neckline.

And the back of this top! Where do I even start? I never wear anything that’s too revealing, but the unique gold, silver and white sequined cross over straps totally won me over. I take interest in the fact that from the front, my outfit looks incredibly girly and dainty, but from the back, the slight skin exposure makes the whole thing look a little bit more playful and less conservative.

Tricia Gosingtian MOFW Australia

Clearly, I am still not over spring in Melbourne with this floral outfit. While the rest of the world is enjoying the autumn foliage and preparing for winter, I am with the Aussies, celebrating spring and summer!

MOFW 2012 Singapore Day 6

Tricia Gosingtian My Own Fashion Week Singapore

(EVE top, JOOP cardigan, Sheinside skirt, Comfit shoes, Topshop bag) Hype this look on Lookbook here. Oops, you can totally see my remote control in this picture…!

Day 6 features this girly outfit that makes use of gray and black. Gray top and leatherette skirt? Sounds very badass and rocker to me! Girly doesn’t always have to be pink and creamy all the time in my book. Sometimes the combination of certain unusual items can create a more interesting look than what we usually see.

Pair these items with a blue cardigan, a gold ribbon bag, and some cute yellow pumps and you’ll be surprised how much these dark-colored items can transform.

Tricia Gosingtian My Own Fashion Week Singapore

The black socks and yellow shoes combination was actually inspired by Minnie Mouse! I’ll be flying to Hong Kong for a holiday this October, and I can’t wait to go to Disneyland with one of my good friends. Maybe I’ll do an all-out Minnie-inspired outfit then!

Tricia Gosingtian My Own Fashion Week Singapore

Here’s a variation with an added pearl necklace, because it automatically adds a certain kind of elegance to a seemingly casual outfit. Recently I’ve been so tempted to bling all my clothes with pearl collars (ala my EMODA chiffon tops). Can’t seem to get enough of them!

Anyhow, I think this will be the last of my MOFW Singapore posts! Why I won’t do a Day 7 has something to do with limited resources - I don’t have any more new Singapore blogshop/brand items to feature, honestly. T_T Not bad for a first time though? Please do watch out for my next MOFW next month, where I’ll be doing a few days of Australian fashion posts after I post my travel diary to Melbourne!
