Never mind the debate whether Hello Kitty is really a cat or not, because at the end of the day, she’s still the same kawaii icon that we’ve grown to love through the years!
Did you know that on November 1st, Hello Kitty will already be celebrating her 40th birthday? I envy all those who can go to the first ever Hello Kitty Con in Los Angeles. I can only imagine how cute everything will be.
Since I can’t attend Hello Kitty’s 40th birthday celebration, I’ll just wear Hello Kitty fashion as a form of tribute to my childhood favorite. I recently found a Hello Kitty nook in The SM Store’s Girls Teens Wear section, and couldn’t help but help raise awareness for it since it’s super underrated!
I must say that it is all kinds of purr-fect!
Hello Kitty meets FIFA World Cup! GTW by SM has these adorable crop tops of all the countries that participated in the recent league… except Japan? So I had to get the South Korea top as a second choice, lol.
Not complaining though! The Korean embassy granted me a 3-year multiple-entry visa the same day I wore this outfit. Foreshadowing…?!
Can’t wait for my Seoul trip at the end of the month!
Paired my sporty crop top and cap with a girly skater skirt and ankle-strap heels. (Pardon the K-pop wannabe pose! I just had to!)
The Hello Kitty corner of GTW by SM also has Hello Kitty-patterned long-sleeved tops and hoodies. I had to get this top because of its overflowing potential to instantly kawaii-fy any outfit.
Put a ribbon pin on my jacket for maximum Hello Kitty feels. I was THISCLOSE to putting it on my hair, but figured I might be too old for that now, haha!
Hello Kitty fanatics, check out the Hello Kitty character goods in SM Makati if you have time! You won’t be disappointed! <3
This was my Universal Studios Osaka outfit that didn’t push through, lol. Typhoon Mario arrived on the day of our departure, so our airline had to postpone our flight to the next day. Good thing they sponsored us accommodations! Once things got calmer, Crissey shot our matchy-matchy gingham outfits so we can at least blog about them!
I was really looking forward to wearing this outfit from JRunway - you guys know how obsessed I am with Japanese style! I noticed that Japan’s gingham game is still going strong, only they switched their pastel pinks and baby blues with more F/W colors now. And I don’t know what’s more F/W than black and white.
Thanks to JRunway for sending me this perfect summer-to-fall transition outfit! I’m pretty sure they’re the closest that we’ll ever get to an international online store that sells the trendiest Japanese fashion. It’s really the best time to fall in love with Japanese culture because they’re starting to open up to the idea of becoming global brands.
Me in the JRunway store in Plaza Singapura, as snapped by my brothers who went to Singapore last month. The photo above was part of this photoshoot that I did in Tokyo last March. Crossing fingers something similar can open in Manila! We could definitely use more Japanese fashion here!
In the meantime, ordering online is the top option if you don’t have immediate opportunities to fly to Japan, Hong Kong, Taiwan, Singapore, etc. JRunway used to just ship to Singapore, but good news - They now have overseas delivery to different countries such as Singapore, Malaysia, Philippines, Indonesia, Australia, and Thailand.
Tired of seeing brands like ESPERANZA, GAL STAR, SPIRALGIRL, ROYAL PARTY, 3rd by VANQUISH, X-Girl, muse muse, etc. in Japanese magazines only, and frustrated that you can’t go to Japan and buy all these Japanese goodies?
JRunway can now ship to these countries! The Philippines is included - HALLELUJAH
If you order now until the 21st, you can get some free Biore samples too! A lot of Japanese women swear by Biore, so now’s your chance to try it out.
Here’s a short video about JRunway! If it’s any help, JRunway is the first ever Japanese multi-brand store in Southeast Asia, and it showcases more than 15 hottest fashion brands from Japan. Currently, these brands are available at 68 Orchard Road, Plaza Singapura, #01-54, Singapore 238839, but they recently opened an online store to accommodate fans of Japanese fashion from all over the world.
Kate Spade’s 2 Park Avenue Beau Bag was one of the “it” bags of 2013, but I was only totally swayed to get it when I spotted this 3-tone black-brown-white color combination. I thought the original colors were too striking for my understated personal style, while the black and pastel pink versions were too predictable of me. This particular style, however, did it for me! I beieve it’s cute and sophisticated enough for me to tote about town 5, 10, or even 15 years from now. Perfect companion to wear around my arm. Plus it reminded me so much of dark chocolate (my favorite) <3
I also have bows on my Kate Spade flats! A girl can never have too many bows.
First of all, I’m not going to pretend that I already know how to bike, but I do intend to learn soon! I never got to try biking without training wheels (my older brother got into a serious bike accident when we were little, and that somewhat discouraged me from trying the real thing out), but everything changed since I discovered Yowamushi Pedal. I didn’t know what to do with my life after the first season ended, lol. So happy it’s back!
Last March, Japanese news reported that there was a major increase of female cyclists because of YowaPeda. Apparently, since the show premiered last year, the number of young, female customers checking out bike shops have doubled in Japan. I’m not alone!
My mom knows me too well - she got me a second-hand (from my uncle) Japanese brand bike! WOOT! Way to go, mom! It’s not a road racer like in the anime/manga, but I totally need that basket, lol #priorities. Wish me luck! Hopefully I can find time to learn before Christmas/New Year!
Sooo this is my make-believe fashionable bike outfit. Just G’s current collection features some wonderful non-denim outerwear for fall/winter. This jacket is no exception! The quality is A+, and for such an affordable amount too. Just G, I still can’t believe you’re real.
Just G boutique stores can be found in SM Megamall, Market Market, Sta. Lucia, SM Southmall, Eastwood City, SM North Edsa, SM Manila and SM Cebu. Just G and Gingersnaps share spaces at Shangri-la, Rockwell, Robinsons Metroeast, SM Baguio and SM Pampanga. They also have department store corners at SM Megamall, Robinsons Galleria, Landmark Trinoma, SM Makati, SM Mall of Asia, Robinsons Festival Mall, SM North Edsa, SM Cubao, SM Pampanga, SM Southmall and Robinsons Ermita.

I got a new burgundy pants from SM Woman recently, so I took cues from some of Hollywood’s favorite street style stars on how to wear the trend.
Here are Taylor Swift, Olivia Palermo (one of my ultimate style inspirations!), and Selena Gomez rocking it! This is one item that you can’t not have this season. These pants are the perfect alternative to classic blue/black/gray jeans, because you can dress them up or down depending on the items that your pair them with. They can be both fun and sophisticated, so you’ll definitely want to have this in your closet.
(SM Woman pants)
Here’s my Taylor Swift-inspired outfit! Paired my burgundy pants with different black items for that casual “New York” look.
(If you’re wondering why I didn’t go for stripes - Taylor loves polka dots, I think, more than stripes, haha)
Olivia Palermo never fails to make everything look classy! I look up to her so much that I decided to grow my bangs out as an attempt to look like her (in my dreams, lol). I also part my hair in the middle all the time because of her. <3
If you think burgundy pants are hard to match with other items, think again! Olivia’s outfit only shows that you can wear it with other autumn colors, and still end up looking put-together.
Selena’s style is quite different from mine, but here’s my own interpretation of her outfit!
I love that she mixed her burgundy pants with sporty elements! Good thing I found a vest that looks like a varsity jacket, only with the sleeves cut off.
Had so much fun creating this entry! I’m really set on making this a regular thing - cross your fingers I don’t get lazy, haha.
See you guys at SM Makati one of these days! I can’t wait to check out the newest stocks.
