Go Negosyo Inspiring Young Entrepreneurs of 2010

Won a Go Negosyo Inspiring Young Filipino Entrepreneur award for being a creative entrepreneur today! Pushed my luck and submitted my CV a few weeks ago… and I actually got chosen, much to my surprise. Thanks heaps Go Negosyo!

Other winners were Happy and Viva Andrada (F*Art), Reymont Choachuy (Noble House), RJ David (Sulit.com.ph), Anton Diaz (Our Awesome Planet), Cris Guerrero (Ideal Events), Valerie Mendoza (Y3L Hand-Painted Sneakers), Mary Grace Santos (Li’l People Enterprise), Richard Sanz (Food Asia Corporation), Timothy Sarvida (El Buono Pizza), as well as social entrepreneurs Reese Fernandez (Rags2Riches), Bam Aquino and Mark Ruiz (Hapinoy), and Anna Meloto-Wilk, Dylan Wilk and Camille Meloto (Gandang Kalikasan). An article by Joey Concepcion came out in today’s The Philippine Star, Business Life section, if you want to know more about each winner.

Was awarded by GMA 7 CEO Felipe Gozon, Go Negosyo founder Joey Concepcion and the Vice President of the Philippines Jejomar Binay!

Looking lost, out of place and overwhelmed! I was the youngest awardee, so I was extra shy especially among people I normally just read about in the papers. I was a panelist during the afternoon forum and it was so strange for me to be grouped with some really big-time businessmen who mostly already had kids and at least a decade of work experience. Ten years ago I was only eleven, geeking out on anime and spending all my time after school playing video games.
And then we were asked to share secrets to our success. Talk about pressure!

Thanks to my dad for helping me fix my CV and for encouraging me to go for it even if I was iffy about joining in the first place. I need to believe in myself more, really. :s

And thanks to my brothers Chase and Juju for being there! <3
Really nice experience altogether. I hope this encourages more teens and young adults to work hard and to push their luck when it comes to these things too. Dream big!

Bumped into Keena at Shang while I was scouting girls for Johnson’s Body Care’s Soft Skin campaign. Missed her lots! We (plus Gia) used to enlist in the same classes back in sophomore year. She’s going to Japan later this month and I recommended a few shopping favorites. <3
Want to go back to Japan! :(
When I’m not dolled up and modeling, this is what I look like - a loose-shirt-wearing photographer with incredibly messy hair, and leaves and branches stuck on her pants (not in picture, but so much lulz anyway). Had so much fun today nonetheless!
With Ronna from Inquirer, make-up artist Pong Niu, hairstylist Borge Aloba and 5’10” half-British half-Filipina model Samantha Lewis. Special thanks to Trina for letting us crash in your dorm - you are so precious!
With mom, after graduation. When I was younger, people often called me the girl version of my dad. My youngest brother Calel got most of mom’s looks. As I grew older, more people started to notice the resemblance between me and my mom. I still don’t see it much though, because imo, she’s too gorgeous.
Thank you for giving us all double eyelids, besides giving birth to the four of us. Teehee. :-*
(Thanks to my brothers Chase and Juju for buying me purdy flowers!)
Send photos of your RED MANGO EXPERIENCE to redmango@redmango.com.ph and win gift certificates if they post them here! Winners will be announced on May 1, 2010.
That bottom-most photo wasn’t part of the actual shoot, haha. I was in the middle of eating melted yogurt when I posed for this super quickly, lol.
This is what you call… TAN! Huzzah.
FASHION ATE THE WORLD: Tricia Gosingtian
Tricia Gosingtian knows the joys of being both in front and behind the camera. She is practically a professional photographer from Manila, who’s an occasional model and stylist as well. She is able to use her talent and background to create stunning images - who would have guessed quick…
Here is the link to the article. Thanks Tin! *u*
A short clip taken by my friend and LS awardee for music Marb (who was also seated beside me). Thanks heaps! I completely forgot to teach you how to use my camera (thus the blur). But ‘tis alright. :)
Each year, my university gives out special awards to seniors who have excelled in their craft. Categories include dance, theater arts, screen arts, music, sculpture, graphic design, creative writing, photography and illustration.
The people beside me: presenter Rachel Quong, university president Fr. Nebres S.J, dean of the School of Humanities Dr. Vilches and VP for the LS Dr. Cuyengkeng.
Also took videos of everyone receiving their awards, so do watch out for yours!
P.S. I stole Sto. Niño’s cape, apparently.
Obligatory LSAA group photo!
